IMPORTANT NOTES
The schedule is subject to change! It is always a good idea to arrive at tournaments at least one hour before the performance time. Since tournament hosts use their parking lots for bus and truck/trailer parking, finding parking can be a challenge at all tournaments.
NOTE: If the weather forecast reads above 90 degrees, we will move our rehearsal time to 8:30 AM to keep the kids out of the heat. If this happens, we will excuse the students when rehearsal is over so they can rest before the show.
Schedule
10 AM – Call Time
- Please make sure you are on the field and prepared for rehearsal on time!
- It is never good to be late but it is even worse to be late on the day of a show!
- Please eat a healthy breakfast before you arrive.
- Do not wear your marching shoes to rehearsal. Your shoes should be clean and packed in your bag.
1 PM – Rehearsal Ends
- Load trucks
- It is your responsibility to make sure your instrument gets loaded onto a trailer!
- Smaller instruments like flute, clarinet, alto saxophone, and trumpet should be loaded onto the bus, not on the truck.
- Please eat something healthy at this time.
- Students may not leave campus during this time unless a parent or guardian provides Mr. Wooten written permission BEFORE the event.
- Please use this time to eat, relax, check your bag, and make sure you are prepared for the remainder of the day.
2:30 PM – Meet in Sections
(woodwinds, brass, percussion, and color guard)
- Please use this time to make sure you have everything you need for the day!
2:45 PM – Depart by Bus to Valencia High School
- Please remember proper bus behavior (see handbook)
- All band students must be wearing their SHHS polo shirt or their 2026 show shirt at this time. You may also wear your SHHS hoodie or member jacket over your polo shirt or show shirt.
- Color Guard students must be wearing their warm ups.
3:30 PM – Arrive @ Valencia High School
- Unload trailers
- Use restroom
- Eat something healthy
4:30 PM – Get into Uniform
- 4:30 – Girls change into uniforms on the bus
- 4:50 – Boys change into uniforms on the bus
- Please never change into uniforms outside
5:30 PM – Depart for Warm Up Zone
5:40 PM – Warm Up
6:40 PM – Depart Warm Up Zone for Gate/Staging
6:50 PM – Arrive @ Gate/Staging
7 PM – Performance
7:15 PM – Return to Buses/Trailers
- Same procedure as above:
- Girls change out of uniform
- Boys change out of uniform
- This must be a quick process so we can get back into the stadium to watch performances and watch the awards.
- Boys will begin to load the truck while the girls are changing. Girls will continue to load the truck while the boys are changing. All students are expected to help with the loading process!
- Once the trucks are loaded and everyone has changed, we will return to the stadium as a group.
- All band students should be wearing their SHHS polo shirt or 2026 show shirt. You may also wear your member jacket or SHHS hoodie.
- Color Guard students must be wearing their warm ups at this time.
8:30 PM – Return to Stadium as a Group
- Once we arrive in the stadium, all students must stay inside the stadium at all times!
- All students should be in one of three places during this time:
- Our assigned seating section
- Concession stand
- Restroom
- Please remember to be courteous to the performers and other groups in the stands at all times!
9:30 PM – Awards Ceremony
- All students must be seated in our assigned section during awards.
10:15 PM – Return to Buses
10:30 PM – Depart by bus to SHHS
- All students must ride the bus to and from each event. If a parent would like to pick up their student at the event, they must email Mr. Wooten at mwooten@c-vusd.org at least 24 hours before the event.
11:15 – Arrive @ SHHS
- Once the truck is unloaded and the band room is cleaned up you will be dismissed.
Things to Bring
- Black marching shoes – MUST BE CLEAN BEFORE EVERY EVENT!
- LONG black socks – Calf length or longer!
- Logo shirt (to be worn at rehearsal)
- Logo shorts (to be worn at rehearsal)
- Black gloves
- Polo shirt or 2026 show shirt
- Warm clothes to wear after our performance (if needed)
- Clean instrument with all accessories
- Sunglasses, hat, and sunscreen (for rehearsal)
- One-gallon water jug
- Money for food
- Healthy snacks, sack lunch, or dinner
