Chaiya D. Odle – Percussion Staff

Chaiya D. Odle is a percussionist, educator, and composer born and raised in Washington State, but recently moved to Temple City, CA to continue her career and be close to her friends and loved ones in California. She currently arranges and teaches at Temple City HS, teaches at South Hills HS, POW Percussion, and at the Opus Music School. In the past, she taught at multiple high schools and middle schools in the Pacific Northwest, and at Pacific Crest in 2022.

Her performance experience includes both front ensemble and battery percussion at Eruption Indoor (‘16-17), IMPACT Percussion (‘18-20), CWU Marching Band(‘17-20), Vessel Percussion(‘21), Broken City Percussion(‘22), Columbians Drum and Bugle Corps(‘18,20), and Blue Knights Drum and Bugle Corps(‘19). She is also active as an orchestral and jazz artist, having studied privately under Dr. Miho Takekawa, and then Mark Goodenberger for the last nine years. She has a musically diverse background performing in South Sound Symphonic Band, Pacific Lutheran Percussion Ensemble, almost all the Central Washington University instrumental ensembles, and more. Chaiya recently finished her degree with a Bachelor of Arts in Music, Percussion and a minor in Sociology from Central Washington University.

Outside of her music passions, Chaiya has a deep love for nature, reading, art, traveling, and singing. She finds cultivating warm connections and growth in communities as the most gratifying thing any individual can do.
